About us/History
Arbroath Instrumental Band was formed in 1893 and has provided the town with a very strong band ever since. Today it is in much demand in both Arbroath and the surounding area, providing music of a high standard for concerts, galas, charity events and church services. The band recently benefited from a new set of instruments, purchased with the help of a National Lottery grant and the generosity of the Arbroath towns people. In recent years the band has had to rely on its Youth band and school pupils to fill any vacancies which occur and now youth plays a very prominent part in the band personnel. The band is very proud to have gained promotion for three consecutive years, gaining it a place in the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
